What makes up a Vietnam address?
Vietnam addresses use house number and street, then ward or commune, then province or centrally governed city with a 5-digit postcode. Since 2025 the local admin structure is two-level, so new addresses no longer include district (Quận / Huyện). Postcodes were reassigned under Decision 2334/QĐ-BKHCN.
Two-level layout
| Line 1 | House + street (Số nhà + Đường) |
|---|---|
| Line 2 | Ward or commune (Phường / Xã) |
| Line 3 | Province or city + 5-digit postcode |
| Line 4 | VIỆT NAM (no district on new addresses since 2025) |
Postal codes
National postcodes are 5 digits; the first two roughly mark the province or city (e.g. Hanoi 10–14, Da Nang 50–52, Ho Chi Minh City 70–75). Prefer ^\d{5}$. If you must support legacy data, handle 6-digit codes separately.
Form testing checklist
Validate 5-digit postcodes; support Vietnamese tone marks (ă â đ ê ô ơ ư and tones) in NFC and NFD; make district optional. For a broader address-form checklist, see US address form test cases
Typical use cases
Useful for Vietnamese tone marks, ward/commune fields, 5-digit postcodes, and making district optional for older records. Use country code VN and phone prefix +84.
How to use test data
In development you can use these samples to check field length, line breaks, international characters, and responsive layouts. For payment, identity, logistics, or compliance flows, use official sandbox data from your provider—do not submit these samples to live systems.
